SOUTH BOSTON, VA :: Bobby McCarty scored two top-10 finishes in twin 100-lap Late Model features at South Boston Speedway over the weekend. McCarty’s fifth place finish on Saturday was his first top-five finish of the year.
McCarty started the day off with a 13th place qualifying run in time trials, recording a lap time of 16.283. After qualifying the team worked on the car to make it better for the race. McCarty raced his way up to the fifth position in spite of having the right side sheet metal on his car torn off in an incident. In the second race, McCarty held off some strong competition to score his sixth place finish.
McCarty’s next race will be on April 19th when he again races in twin Late Model features at South Boston Speedway in Virginia.
